Hello and welcome to our web site!
My name is Maya Djafarova. I am an experienced classical piano teacher and performer from Moscow, Russia (Master's Degree, Professor, Class Piano) member of Ontario Registered Music Teacher Association. Before I immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 2001 I have taught music for 35 years.
I am teaching Russian classic piano style with attention to composition, sound and hand techniques; specializing in 7- ARCT grades and university level.
I keep the number of the students in my studio down to 14-16 pupils to give personal attention and individual approach. My students have often won awards in performances at Moscow City Concerts and now at Toronto musical contests. Download MP3 files to listen to students, please see Students information page.
For the four years teaching in Canada I achieved with my students the great results. 87% is the student's average mark in RCM exams and Toronto piano competitions.
The majority of my students, upon graduation, continued with their careers in music and many went on to major in music at the University level. The classes always had a special atmosphere of warmth and friendliness.
My classes have always had the best performances at college concerts and received the highest ratings at piano exams.
